ADVENTURE & NATURE STUDY CAMP 2019
The Adventure and Nature Study Camp organised by The Himalayan Club Kolkata Section will inculcate not only a sense of community living and comradeship among the campers but also build up self-dependence and confidence in their personal lives. It will inspire them to have best of human qualities which will be asset in their future.
The curriculum of the camp will be as follows:
- Adventure part:
- Tent pitching
- Night shelter making
- Map reading and local topographical study
- Track signs and trekking
- Rope craft
- River crossing
Senior campers will learn additionally:
- Fire making
- Cooking
- Night out
Nature study part:
- Bird watching
- Night sky watching through telescope
- Local flora and fauna
- Streams, pebbles and rock features
- Local customs and culture
- Environmental awareness and related actions
